In a case that began in 2008 when a British gay couple were denied a room with a shared bed by Christian hotel operators, a court in the UK ruled this week that the Christians violated the law when they refused accommodations to a pair of homos because the hoteliers believe in the Sanctity of Bigotry.
The elderly couple who run the hotel operation believe that since they consider bigotry to be a requirement of their religious delusions they should be above the law and free to discriminate against anyone based on their precious ancient superstitions. The court disagreed.
Homophobic bigotry is regarded so highly by modern Jeebustards that it approaches being a sacrament. Churches break off their affiliation with a denomination because the leaders have failed to uphold minimum standards of homophobic bigotry. Demeaning, demonizing and persecuting gay people is regarded as a right of religious expression.

Well here is the way it works, when a person afflicted with obviously idiotic superstitions opens a business to the general public in an industry that is regulated by the government they must obey the same laws as any rational person who is in contact with reality. Just because you think an invisible sky monster does not like someone does not give you the right to violate their civil rights.
Being a Christian does not grant a person with Special Rights™ to mistreat innocent people based on utter stupidity.

The Governor of Maine, the honorable John Baldacci, has signed into law a bill that will grant equal marital rights to gay couples. By doing so he has utterly destroyed the Sanctity of Bigotry in the friendly, beautiful state of Maine.
Of course we can all be certain that the bigots are already up in arms, inventing euphemistic slogans in an attempt to make their Jeebus-brand homophobic bigotry look like decency and righteousness. The legislature and the Governor of Maine would seem to disagree with the Bible thumping bigots, as they have come to the conclusion that all citizens should have equal rights under the law.
Our hat is off today to the Governor, legislature, and the rest of the government of the beautiful state of Maine. We have often had the great pleasure of visiting Maine, and the people there have always been friendly, open-minded, and pleasant. Perhaps Maine has a lower percentage of citizens afflicted by bigotry-laden religious delusions, but whatever the reason this news is good news for everyone except the Party of Jesus.
Religious bigots in Maine that think gay marriage is horrible are still free to not marry a same sex partner. Their freedom of bigotry has not been compromised, all that has happened is that the state government has declined to honor the Sanctity of their Bigotry under the law that affect all citizens of Maine, whether they are religious or rational.
