Increasing numbers of Americans are turning away from ridiculous ancient fairy tales and making a reality-based Lifestyle choice, according to a study released earlier this week.
More and more Americans are giving up on the silly superstitions that plagued their ancestors and historically promoted slavery, sexism and homophobia. Instead citizens are considering the fact that there is absolutely no evidence whatsoever to support belief in invisible super pals that live in a secret compartment behind the sky and are desperate for us to smite the unbelievers.
Even in Texas, well known for exporting amazingly stupid politicians afflicted with ridiculous superstitions, belief in fairy tales is down by 7% since 1990.
Our faith-based invasion of Iraq based on a pack of lies may have been a factor in the steep decline in people willing to be branded in public as Christians. Protestants are down from 19% of Americans to 13%, while the Holy Roman Altar Boy Rape Corporation also suffered losses as more parents lost interest in having their children molested by religious leaders.
The one group that did increase in the poll are those Americans who indicate they are not suffering from religious delusions which is now up to 15%. We need to get that well up into the 90 percent range if we are going to have equal justice for all despite what vicious TV evangelists, Mor[m]on propagandists and Republican legislators have to say. Clearly the people promoting social injustice are those who are still afflicted with religious delusions. By promoting a reality based Lifestyle Choice™ you can help promote peace, justice and equality for all.

A number of large and well known California corporations have joined the many voices of reason expressing opposition to the Jeebus-brand bigotry of Proposition 8. The ballot initiative, if passed, would enshrine homophobic bigotry based on preposterous ancient superstitions directly into the California state constitution.
If the hate-based ballot measure were to pass, all existing gay marriages would be rendered null and void, future tax and marriage license fees that would be collected by the counties would be decreased, income in the wedding industry would decline, and nobody would benefit in any way whatsoever except narrow-minded bigots for Jeebus. The only benefit they would obtain is the preservation of the Sanctity of Bigotry.
Among the many organizations coming out in favor of reason, tolerance, and equal rights for all citizens are the world famous Google, Levi Strauss and Company, and bay area utility firm Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E).
Meanwhile the Jeebus industry keeps pouring money, sermons and bald faced lies into the effort to roll back equality and take away the hard earned rights for which homos have struggled so long. The lines could not possibly be more clearly drawn, rational people that live in contact with reality are opposed to this baseless and spiteful discrimination, and Christianity is the champion of fiction, untruth, bigotry and intolerance.
It is Jeebus versus progress, religion versus decency, fairy tales versus the real world. We promise to post a Ha Ha message on November 5th when the Jeebus industry goes down in flames. May this limitless, well funded campaign to promote intolerance reveal to the world the nasty underside of one of the most dangerous fairy tale based Lifestyle Choices in the world.
Just say NO to Jeebus-based intolerance!

Ruling on a case in which a Jeebus-brand bigoted California doctor refused to provide fertility services to a lesbian couple, the California Supreme Court has rendered a unanimous decision that even Jeebus bigot doctors who vote Republican are required to provide exactly the same services to their queer patients as they do for people that are not queer. The justices did allow bigots to get another doctor in their medical group to provide services which their religious stupidity or other form of bigotry opposes.
Since Christianity is all about having bad people to feel holier than, the decision comes as another serious loss for their Imaginary Bearded Sky Daddy and his Jeebus manifestation.
The decision stemmed from a lawsuit filed by Guadalupe T. Benitez, a lesbian who lives with her partner in Oceanside, a coastal city 35 miles north of San Diego, and wanted to become pregnant with donated sperm.
Benitez contended that Dr. Christine Brody, an obstetrician at the North Coast Women's Care Medical Group, told her that her religious views prevented her from performing an intrauterine insemination on a lesbian.
Another physician at the clinic, Dr. Douglas Fenton, told Benitez that the staff was uncomfortable helping her conceive a child and advised her to find a doctor outside the medical group, Benitez said.
We applaud this decision by the California Supreme Court, just as we continue to express our overwhelming contempt for hatred, intolerance, and bigotry dressed up in a pretty religious costume.
Just say NO to ridiculous ancient drivel created by warmongering mid-east genocidal tribes.

The most recent Field Poll on the subject of the Jeebus-brand anti-gay marriage constitutional bigotry amendment shows that a vast majority of registered California voters oppose bigotry even when it is wearing a pretty Jeebus dress.
The Traditional Values Coalition, and in particular the lying bastard Lou Sheldon, are welcome to roll up this poll and smoke it. Or they could use this news for other recreational purposes, including ones that might involve sitting on something. As a matter of fact I bet you can guess where Lou is welcome to shove it. Of course the TVC is only one of the bigotry sources trying once again to sell the Fear of a Queer Planet as if it was something to worry about.
The days when you could paint the word Jeebus on a pile of vile bigotry and sell it to people are, fortunately, long gone.
A very large percentage of people in California are personally acquainted with one or more gay or lesbian couples who have become married in the last 2 months. Not a single person in California has suffered any harm at all, not even a hangnail, as a result of gay marriage. The fact is that equal rights equal equal rights. It is the Fundamentalist bigots who are seeking Special Rights®, in particular they want to have the right to decide who can get married and who can not.
Well, it is too late, their tired old rhetoric has become tired and old, just like their fairy tales about an Imaginary Bearded Sky Daddy.
I'd like to thank my fellow citizens of California for taking a stand against bigotry and intolerance. You guys rock!
And Lou, there is still plenty of time to sit on it. Too bad about the Sanctity of Bigotry. Poor little thing.
Game over. Jeebus loses again.

A bigots for Jebus group, The Campaign for Children and Families, has failed in their pathetically stupid attempt to get the Kern County Commisioners to issue an illegal ban on gay marriage.
Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha. Jesus loses AGAIN. If their Imaginary Bearded Sky Daddy wasn't so completely fictitious maybe he would be able to do something. But the 2,000 year old fairy tales used to justify their homophobic bigotry are complete and utter fiction, from vengeful genocidal holy war to deity-sponsored rape, it's all just ugly, stupid and make relieve.
Losers.
Supervisors declined to act on the measure after Bernard Barmann, the county's lawyer, said it would be illegal for the county to adopt its own same-sex marriage ban.
Won't anybody think about the bigots?

Your Atheist Fag blogger is pleased to announce that he was married to his long time partner in Unholy Matrimony at the Riverside County Clerk's offices in Indio California. Woo hoo! C'est moi on the right. From now on whenever I refer to him as my husband I will not need to use quotes.
After nearly 12 years as a couple, our relationship now has the same legal status as the relationships of our heterosexual neighbors.

A Jeebus-loving professional hatemonger preacher has had the appeal of his lawsuit turned down as frivolous by the Wisconsin State Supreme Court. The Rev. Grant Storms of New Orleans sued Action Wisconsin after it excerpted a 2003 speech he made in Milwaukee on "homo-fascism" in the city, which the group said revealed his advocating the murder of gays. In his homophobic hate filled Christian tirade the preacher had made noises like gunfire while talking about shooting homosexual persons, no doubt in order to spread The Good News.
In addition to losing the case, the preacher who advocated cold-blooded murder was also forced to pay the court costs of the gay group he sued in the original case, the first appeal, and the supreme court appeal, his legal bills now amount to $120,000 and he still does not have one dead homo for his trophy room.
According to court records:
Timothy O'Brien, president of the Madison-based Action Wisconsin, became concerned when he learned the nature of the comments made and that state Sen. Tom Reynolds (R-West Allis) had attended the conference. O'Brien said he purchased tapes of the speeches from the church group's Web site.
O'Brien said in a press release that Storms' comments advocated the murder of gays, something Storms denied.
Storms, who hosts a talk show on a New Orleans radio station, considers himself a Christian activist and has protested what he calls "the homosexual agenda." And now, according to the Wisconsin Supreme Court, he's a loser too.

Based on the questions asked by the Justices of the California Supreme Court, it looks like some whining crybaby homophobic Christian bigot doctors in San Diego may soon have to wipe the intolerant smirks off their bigoted faces.
It seems that Jeebus wanted these doctors to marginalize, insult, and deny medical services to a lesbian couple who were seeking medical care available to any Christian. In order to justify their bigotry against gay and lesbian couples these doctors, who are obviously Republicans, rolled out the standard 2,000 year old fairy-tale based American Fundamentalist religious persecution claim. Yawn.
The California Supreme Court, which has had 6 of its 7 judges appointed by Republicans, has recently had it up to here with Jeebus-brand homophobic bigotry. It is starting to show. In this way the honorable justices clearly reflect the attitude of the good citizens of California.
The plaintiffs in this case are a lesbian couple who sought fertility treatment from doctors who refused to provide them with the medical care they sought simply because the doctors are bigoted Christian assholes. Of course they trotted out the 2,000 year old corpse of their Imaginary Bearded Sky Daddy to justify this crime. But it seems that the court does not wish to hear about their completely baseless superstitions.
One Supreme Court Justice, the honorable Carol A. Corrigan,
pointed out that these bigots were running a business, noting that if they did not wish to perform certain procedures they could go into some other line of work. It is interesting to note that Justice Corrigan was one of the minority on the California Supreme Court who recently voted against the instantly infamous gay marriage ruling. Maybe these doctors would be more comfortable spewing their bigotry and intolerance on some unwatched UHF channel as professional TV evangelist morons.
Under existing California law it is not OK to deny public accommodations to any citizen simply because of their sexual orientation. Ancient superstitions do not trump the law. Fervently held intolerant views based on false assumptions and oft-repeated lies do not trump the law.
If the physicians in this case find that the laws in the state of California are too oppressive against their precious intolerance, they might enjoy living somewhere else, for example in a place where religious delusions do trump the law. Iran comes to mind. Or Somalia.
American Fundamentalists don't seem to have realized yet that the tide of human progress has now turned completely and finally against them, as the 21st century moves away from the intolerance and hatred that forms the core of all Fundamentalist delusions. As they continue in their attempts to marginalize and demonize innocent gay and lesbian citizens, they serve only to make fools and laughing stock of themselves. Everybody can see through their bigotry and deceptions. Nobody is fooled, including as of yesterday one of the most staunchly conservative and pro-Republican justices on our California Supreme Court.
Nobody is persecuting these fools, if they do not wish to practice medicine they are free to stand on street corners in raggedy old clothes loudly mouthing their spiteful bible verses a la schizophrenia. But if they want to run a business that is open to the public in the state of California, they must provide equal treatment to all citizens. It's the law.
