The last week has been really tough for the Jesus Industry, with justice and equal rights breaking out on several fronts, doing great damage to their beloved Sanctity of Bigotry.
In Washington the final nails were driven into the coffin of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell. Despite the best sky is falling predictions and the years and years of gay bashing for Jesus, Christianity took one on the chin and gay people achieved another level of equality.
And speaking of equality in New York State overnight a pair of grandmothers were the first gay couple to be married. GLBT people in New York State now have the same exact marriage rights as people with a majority sexual orientation.
Poor Jesus! But just to try to cheer up our Christian friends and neighbors we are displaying a graphic up above for new, improved Benedict brand condoms, recommended by the Pope and priests everywhere. Benedict brand condoms are available for anyone, you don’t have to be planning to kidnap an altar boy, law abiding citizens can use them too.

In a case that began in 2008 when a British gay couple were denied a room with a shared bed by Christian hotel operators, a court in the UK ruled this week that the Christians violated the law when they refused accommodations to a pair of homos because the hoteliers believe in the Sanctity of Bigotry.
The elderly couple who run the hotel operation believe that since they consider bigotry to be a requirement of their religious delusions they should be above the law and free to discriminate against anyone based on their precious ancient superstitions. The court disagreed.
Homophobic bigotry is regarded so highly by modern Jeebustards that it approaches being a sacrament. Churches break off their affiliation with a denomination because the leaders have failed to uphold minimum standards of homophobic bigotry. Demeaning, demonizing and persecuting gay people is regarded as a right of religious expression.

Well here is the way it works, when a person afflicted with obviously idiotic superstitions opens a business to the general public in an industry that is regulated by the government they must obey the same laws as any rational person who is in contact with reality. Just because you think an invisible sky monster does not like someone does not give you the right to violate their civil rights.
Being a Christian does not grant a person with Special Rights™ to mistreat innocent people based on utter stupidity.

The Southern Poverty Law Center has published a list of American anti-gay hate groups and prominent on the list are Jeebus-brand organizations. In the United States the Fundamentalist Christian movement has become the last bastion of hatred, intolerance, bigotry and slander directed at LGBT persons.
The Southern Poverty Law Center is a nonprofit civil rights organization dedicated to fighting hate and bigotry, and to seeking justice for the most vulnerable members of society.
The Winter 2010 Intelligence Report published by the SPLC lists 18 Jeebus industry hate groups with details about their lies and putrid bile.
Christianity has a long and bloody history of intolerance, racism, slavery, torture and genocide – to name the highlights. Today very many self professed Christians are tolerant and just when interacting with gay people, but on the right wing fringe we still see calls for violence and even murder of gay people.
And then there are the promiscuous. On his May 26, 2010, radio show, Fischer recounted the biblical story of Phineas, who used a spear to kill a man and a woman who were having sex. Citing the nation’s “rampant sexual immorality,” Fischer said, “God is obviously looking for more Phineases in our day.”
When not calling for violence some Jeebus industry hate peddlers focus on the most ridiculous lies their fear filled lizard brains can invent.
In 1992, columnist Jimmy Breslin said that Sheldon told him that “homosexuals are dangerous. They proselytize. They come to the door, and if your son answers and nobody is there to stop it, they grab the son and run off with him. They steal him. They take him away and turn him into a homosexual.” Sheldon later denied that he made the comments, but his website today includes strikingly similar language: “[S]ince homosexuals can’t reproduce, they will simply go after your children for seduction and conversion to homosexuality.” Elsewhere, it claims that “[t]he effort to push adult/child sex … is part of the overall homosexual movement.”
When you want bigotry wrapped in a pious blanket of sacrosanct lies, you want a Jeebus industry hate group.

Today, November 3, 2009, voters in the great state of Maine will go to the polls to vote on Question 1, a ballot measure based on California Proposition H8 that would render null and void the legality of same-sex marriage in Maine despite the fact that their “activist” legislature and “activist” Governor passed and signed a law to establish equal marriage rights for all citizens.
Of course among the most prominent sponsors of Question 1 are major Jeebus Industry organizations such as the Holy Roman Catholic Church – which has reduced child rape up to 5% this year, and other self righteous groups who actually believe they have an invisible super pal who lives in a secret compartment concealed behind the sky and cries every time two guys kiss.
There also are some people who do believe in an Imaginary Bearded Sky Daddy yet still think each person should have equal justice under the law, but these are ordinary people who work at honest jobs, not priests who wear dresses, complain about other people’s morality, then leer at 12 year old altar boys.
Most religious leaders are still desperately interested in protecting the Sanctity of Bigotry because it gives them an imagined handle on moral superiority and it sure brings in the cash from homophobic parishioners.
And it barely needs to be said that the Republican Party, a/k/a Party of Jesus, would be perfectly happy if they could ride a wave of fear mongering, homophobia, and spiteful innuendo to election victory. It has worked for them in the past.
Will this be the first time in the United States that the Jeebus Industry loses at the polls with one of their piously spiteful ballot measures? As a militant atheist fag I sure hope it will be.
Good luck to the wonderful people of Maine!

The Governor of Maine, the honorable John Baldacci, has signed into law a bill that will grant equal marital rights to gay couples. By doing so he has utterly destroyed the Sanctity of Bigotry in the friendly, beautiful state of Maine.
Of course we can all be certain that the bigots are already up in arms, inventing euphemistic slogans in an attempt to make their Jeebus-brand homophobic bigotry look like decency and righteousness. The legislature and the Governor of Maine would seem to disagree with the Bible thumping bigots, as they have come to the conclusion that all citizens should have equal rights under the law.
Our hat is off today to the Governor, legislature, and the rest of the government of the beautiful state of Maine. We have often had the great pleasure of visiting Maine, and the people there have always been friendly, open-minded, and pleasant. Perhaps Maine has a lower percentage of citizens afflicted by bigotry-laden religious delusions, but whatever the reason this news is good news for everyone except the Party of Jesus.
Religious bigots in Maine that think gay marriage is horrible are still free to not marry a same sex partner. Their freedom of bigotry has not been compromised, all that has happened is that the state government has declined to honor the Sanctity of their Bigotry under the law that affect all citizens of Maine, whether they are religious or rational.
